Some say Leland is a trio of musicians from Nacogdoches, TX. Dan Grissom, Adam Rader, and Ryan Conlin all come from different musical backgrounds, and the fact that they draw from so many completely different influences is part of the reason that they have become a steady force in the East Texas roots music scene. They can possibly be categorized as neo-folk, or nu-americana, or indie/folk. They write, record, and produce every aspect of their music. This, their debut album, was recorded with a very simple setup in order to create a very relaxed album that captures the natural energy and improvisation of the band's live shows.
