Details:
Sahanghee "Song" Hahn is an R&B/Gospel Korean-American singer, songwriter, actress, and model. Recently she was selected out of 500 contestants to represent the Philadelphia area by singing the National Anthem at a 2006 NFL Eagles game. In the fashion print world, she has been featured in TeenPeople and Vogue magazine as well as in several fine art exhibitions. She also recently starred as Julie in the independent feature film, Rice Cracker.

Her solo music album, Broke Heart Solutions, is scheduled for release on August 5, 2006. She is currently looking for the right music record label to launch her unique voice: sensitive, silky, yet surprisingly soulful, from the lungs of an Asian female.

Sahanghee has been interviewed on WTMR 1080 AMâs Message in the Music and FM Radio Station Power 99âs Sunday Morning Inspirations; her singles, âBe Alrightâ and âRememberâ have played on their airwaves. She has collaborated with some of Phillyâs finest gospel, R&B, and hip-hop talent, including Jenae Paden, Christopher Aikens, Joshua Arrington, Eskoh, DBak, and Christlike da General. She currently works with Scott Herzog and Sean âSkippâ Waller, her music producers.

Sahanghee is used to surprising others with her voice and talents. Her single, âThis Your World,â talks about her struggle for recognition: âBut what will they think of me/A Korean singinâ R&B/ What if they donât feel me/ Donât feel like I belong.â Later in it, she sings, âWell I might not be a sister/ But I got faith like a believer/ What Iâm tellinâ you is the truth/ Iâm a keep singinâ like I been singinâ/ With or without you.â

Sahangheeâs loved R&B music since she was a child. She remembers singing Whitney Houstonâs âI Will Always Love Youâ on karaoke machines in South Korea. âWhen I first heard Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, something just clicked. I thought to myself, âthatâs the way singingâs supposed to be.â And Iâve been working at it ever since. Iâve prayed for years for God to bless me and to enable me to bless others. He has answered, and continues to answer, but that isnât to say itâs been easy.â

In a genre dominated by African-American performers, itâs just as much about your look and background as it is about how you sound.

Still nowadays, she believes that God is opening doors for her in the entertainment world, on top of one miracle that has already occurred: her parentsâ warming up to her singing career.

âMy mother and father love me and want the best for me. So when they heard their daughter say to them that she instead of becoming a doctor or businesswoman she wanted to be Americaâs next R&B music sensation, they reacted like any other parent. They told me I had lost my mind and that I should get back to studying.â

âBut little by little, God changed their hearts. Now, they really do support me and my dream. They tell me that they are proud of me and even encourage me when I find myself struggling. That means worlds to me.â

âI hope I can go all the way, but only time will tell. But still, the present is an exciting time to live. I canât wait to see whatâll happen next!â
