Sam Thomas and Erick Matthews are the founders of Gumbo Entertainment L.L.C. located in Birmingham, AL. The company was formed in January 2005. Erick and Sam spent 2005 setting up the company, signing Artist to the label and producing the compilation CD Superfriends. Superfriends is a compilation of all the artist that are signed and / or considered part of the intial Gumbo collaboration. This is Gumbo's way of introducing it artists to the industry.

Erick Matthews is the Founder, President and CEO. Erick is a National Recording Artist and renown producer in his own right.
