Stewart Hardy is one of the most exciting fiddle players from the North East of England. His love for the traditional music of Northumblerland and Scotland shines through his repertoire and influences his own compositions. He was Folkwork's Artist in residence in the national "year of the artist" millenium project. He currently works as core tutor on Newcastle University's Folk degree course. Stewart spent six years as an influential member of the very popular John Wright Band, performing throughout Europe. He recently wrote and performed some of the music for the ITV television drama "Distant Shores". He has also performed throughout the world playing folk, pop, rock, country, jazz, and western swing music. Stewart is now based in the North East and is in much demand as a fiddle tutor.

Stewart's debut CD "Tod's Assembly" contains traditional and original tunes, arranged for Fiddle,Clarsach (traditional celtic harp), Guitar and 'Cello.

Tod's Assembly is a favorite of Verity Sharp, presenter of BBC radio 3's eclectic music programme "Late Junction", where it has featured regularly.
