No other piano sounds as rich, sonorous, and deeply moving as the Bosendorfer, and Eroica artist Stephen G. Szirmai brings out the best of it. You really must hear this piano.
18 MP3 Songs
CLASSICAL: Traditional, EASY LISTENING: Mood Music
Details:
Stephen Szirmai
This new CD from Eroica presents a cornucopia of piano pieces, representing the period following the death of the great classical composer Beethoven to the neo-classical giant Bela Bartok.
Recorded on a splendid Boesendorfer piano, it is destined to become acollector's item.
From Schubert to Bartok is a period of experimentation with new sounds, technique and content. Pianist Stephen Szirmai says his intention is to portray some of these developments through the exciting technical innovations of Franz Liszt, the romantic poetry of Chopin, Schumann and Debussy, and the occasional dark overtones of the great Russian composers in general, and Rachmaninoff in particular.
