REVIEW:

Studio City Sun
April 28 - May 4 2006
VOL 4 NO 13
By BILL BENTLEY

Don Scribner, I Know The Devil (Ore Dock)
Hot on the heels of James Hand's stunning new album The Truth Will Set You Free comes another home run in the country crowd from someone who's seen his share of living and isn't afraid to show it. Scribner wears his heart on his sleeve, allowing the years of lost and found love to shine through loud and clear. He's got a character-filled voice that comes from believing in what you're doing and a backing band that knows exactly what each song needs. These days, it's not easy guessing what style is in or out of favor in Nashville, but artists like Scribner and Hand have a way of blasting right past those concerns, reaching a place where real country lives, played for those who could care less about skin and trends. This is a lonesome sound and whether it will make a dent on Music Row or not is beside the point. Don Scribner is the kind of singer that does this because he has to, not because he wants to, which is exactly why I Know The Devil is such a contender.

MINI BIOBRAPHY:

Don grew up in a hard working blue collar town in northern Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Superior almost close enough to see Canada. He loved the woods, the water and the street and credits all three as his riches of life.

Don is a college flunk out turned university graduate, teacher and principal. He stayed in education for years earning a wonderful reputation. But, his drive was in the arts and he wrote many childrenâs musical productions which earned exceptional reviews. He was, indeed a big fish in a little pond⦠but, passionately swimming toward the ocean and his heart led him to CA and the entertainment industry.

Ironically, the longer he lived in CA the more he realized his country soul and began to put pen to paper and relive his memories with song.

EXTRA INFO:

Don Scribner is also an actor. His credits include such films as 2003's "The Cooler" starring Alec Baldwin, William H. Macy, and Maria Bello. Look him up on his own website www.DonScribner.com or on the Internet Movie Database at http://imdb.com/name/nm0780116/.

The depth of gutsy feeling from Don's story telling music and true-to-life experiences are what capture my attention and which make his music presence something that is sure to be long stayed. - Jeff Curley, Talent Agent (Texas TALAGY00000439), Austin Models & Talent Agency
