American/Irish/Folk Music

15 MP3 Songs
WORLD: Celtic, FOLK: Modern Folk

Details:
SullivanBurton (yes, all one word, both ampersand and hyphen-less) started out in downstate Illinois as a duo consisting of two good friends who shared a passion for Celtic music and a penchant for adventure. Shannan (Sullivan) and Bruce (Burton) had previously played together in Irish/Celtic bands spanning a period of several years. They finally decided to collaborate in August of 2003. The remainder of that year and the following one turned out nicely successful for the brand new group even including a concert date with the group Danu, a great band and a nice bunch of folks from county Wexford, Ireland.

In December of 2004 the addition of Bob Moore on bass took place rounding out the band to a solid trio and switching the name SullivanBurton from a descriptor to a title. The music created includes both traditional and contemporary Irish/Celtic colored and tempered with the unavoidable influences of growing up in American pop culture. They like to think of the fusion as Celtic/American/Urban/Folk in nature.
