10 MP3 Songs
WORLD: Asian, EASY LISTENING: Mature
Details:
Surendra Peters, who hails from the South American republic of Guyana, began his singing career while still a student at the Corentyne High School. An ardent fan of the late, great playback singer, Padmashree Mohâd Rafi, he made his stage debut with the Sevah Sangh Orchestra, of Letter Kenny/Bloomfield, Corentyne, and went on to win various singing competitions. He then became a household name while, as a member of the Guyana Merry Makers Orchestra, he dominated the airwaves on Guyana radio for about three years during the weekly, Wednesday night program, Rhythms of Russian Bear.
Also known as Abel Peters, Surendra immigrated to the USA in the late nineteen seventies, continuing his musical quest. He has to his credit six albums, including this devotional CD entitled Precious Moments of Devotion, which he considers his best production, with some splendid music by Sham Ramperdad, one of Trinidadâs top musicians. Among his six albums are two with musical accompaniment by Harry Mahabir and the BWIA National Indian Orchestra of Trinidad & Tobago.
Surendra Peters expects to release another production soon and, yes, it will be available on this web site. He looks forward to building on his fan base and to providing only the high quality product expected of him.
