In a world of look, sound and speak-a-likes, Sucka Brown bucks the musical trend like a mechanical bull on speed, coupling tracks packed with soulful bounce and pop sensibility with a high energy live show that always gets the crowd on their feet.
Formed in the latter days of 2003, Sucka Brown quickly released an EP, bought a black van and hit the road, playing over 100 club and college shows in their first 18 months together. Some highlight shows include showcase slots at the NEMO Music Conference (Boston), Millenium Music Conference (Harrisburg, PA), as well as opening spots at New England College Fest, and Row-A-Palooza at the Head of the Charles. They've also played a number of charity events, including shows for the Mayflower Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
On the road, Sucka Brown has shared the stage with numerous national acts like, Reel Big Fish, American Hi-Fi, Punchline, Ryan Cabrera, The Paranoid Social Club, Peter Prince and Moon Boot Lover, Gruvis Malt, Tarantula, Superhoney, Violet Nine, The Kin, Planeside, LP, Jeremiah Freed, The Everyday Visuals, Ordinary K, and many more. Sucka Brown's EP, known to their fans as The Orange EP, has over 5,000 copies currently in circulation and received a very warm welcome on local and college radio stations like, WMFO, WBRS, WHEB and WXPL. "Gravity My Enemy" was chosen for the Nimbit Holiday Compilation with artists such as Seks Bomba, Michelangelo and Aberdeen City.
The band has just released their first full-length album, entitled "Extra Medium", which they recorded at renowned Q Division Studios and will most definitely be coming to a town near you this fall. So don't miss out on Sucka Brown, because if you do, you'll be the only Sucka around.
