MedEval

While women outnumber men 7 to 1 in the rest of the world, they are very scarce in the world of hip hop. Itâs difficult to find a true gem like a talented female hip hop artist these days, but MedEval is one of the jewels waiting to be discovered. This newcomer possesses the skill, dedication, drive, and talent needed to fulfill that missing void in hip hop. MedEval has hip hop in her blood and is ready to take her position.

Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, TaKisha Jefferson better known as MedEval began writing in the 6th grade. At such a ripe age, she had no idea at the time that rap was in her future, but she continued writing as she matured. In 2003, she discovered that her lyrical talents were one of a kind, and from there decided to take rapping seriously. She united with a few of her peers and formed a rap group called The Hostile Camp, but later parted ways in 2009. Now on her own and more motivated than ever, MedEval was ready to establish herself and get her solo career launched.

Drawing inspiration from female heavy hitters, Mia X and Eve, MedEval stays consistent in perfecting and molding her craft. This young artist is mastering the art of versatility by creating music that several age groups, markets, and genres can relate to. She knows how to switch up styles to target different listeners. Most importantly, MedEval thinks outside the box. She can appeal to a variety of people because she doesnât allow herself to be reduced to one style.

MedEval recently finished her first solo mixtape titled âAt Yo Neckâ. Feedback for the first project was overwhelming, adding fuel to her lyrical fire. She continues to produce well rounded music on a consistent basis, getting her steps closer to solidifying a place in hip hop. With female MCs becoming an endangered species, MedEval will be a much needed refreshment. She is determined to reach her goal of becoming an established rap artist with a strong fan base and will continue to work diligently until its accomplished.
