ââ¦A lovely voice '
Jo Frost, SONGLiNES Magazine
âA fine debut EPâ¦with strong acoustic guitar work, unobvious melodic flourishes and above all a soaring sweet voice.â
**** Trevor Heaton, Eastern Daily Press.
âHer honesty and subtle mix of classical sounds with a folk edge, remind me of some of Nick Drakeâs work. You get the sense of vulnerability from her that a lot of musicians are afraid to show.â
9/10 Willston Outline Magazine
'An engaging singer with a fabulous range. Her songs are from the heart'
BBC Radio
âA beautiful voiceâ¦songs of the most organic concept.â
Future FM.
âLovely songs from this talented young singer songwriterâ
Acoustic Showcase, NAC.
Sarah Sixsmith is a young singer songwriter pushing the boundaries of contemporary inspirational acoustic music.
With vocals and guitar, she creates a powerful dreamy soundscape as she
weaves through her folk infused songs.
Inspired by, amongst others, PortisheadËs bittersweet sound, the uplifting
melodies of Desâree and the honesty of PJ Harvey, Sarah creates her style with intricate guitar work and soaring vocals. It excites the senses and the emotive nature of her songs combined with her genuine desire to entertain is enough to move any audience.
With a fascination for lyrics Sarah writes prolifically from the heart to capture some of the most personal moments that she powerfully rediscovers and releases with each performance. She developed a love for singing during her early childhood in rural Castle Acre in west Norfolk, England.
â I was always fascinated by music and spent years playing the piano and violin. I started playing the guitar when I was 13 and have developed a personal style there too. I often create my own chords to fit with my voice and the songs Iâm writing.â
Sarahâs first love is undoubtedly music and while she performs mainly in and around East Anglia, her time is split between Norfolk and London where she works as a graphic designer.
Sarah plays regularly at acoustic venues alongside some of the most experienced and respected artists in the East of England. Last year she took part in BBC Radio 2âs Sold on Song showcase.
In May this year Sarah played to a sold out audience at the prestigious Norwich venue, The King of Hearts. She was launching her debut EP, In My Eyes, which has been receiving local radio airplay in Norfolk and Suffolk and great reviews, including a four star review in the Eastern Daily Press.
In June, Sarah supported Brooklyn based artist 'Joan As Police Woman' at Norwich Arts Centre and in August Sarah supported Vanâs daughter Shana Morrison at Londonâs Borderline.
