Released at the turn of the century, Roots Wreck Remix was the sophomore full-length album from Electro Organic Sound System (EOSS). It was the follow-up to the 1996 underground classic, Herbanism.

On this album the studio wizardry of EOSS is applied to ambient-dub, jungle, and instrumental hip-hop styles. EOSS flavors the album's ten tracks with its own "wreck-step" style of drum & bass beats, and apt description of the frenetic beats woven through parts of the album.
