Magic Punches is a Portland, Oregon based Pop Duo that comprises Lee Barbara on vocals, guitar, keys, and drums, and Bobby Seus on vocals, bass, keys, and guitar. Having played together since their days as high school students in Medford, Oregon, the project began after several years of touring and recording with bands had worn out Seus' and Barbara's patience and bank accounts.

Barbara decided to return to school, earning his degree in Jazz Guitar studies at Portland State, while Seus went to work as a bartender and bass player. Eventually, the friends rejoined with the notion to open their own recording studio.
They set up shop in an old warehouse under the Hawthorne Bridge, and founded Color Blocks Productions. Working by day on various projects for local songwriters and bands, Seus and Barbara moonlighted on their own compositions, experimenting with new sonic territories and carefully tweaking their arrangements.

With the studio came the freedom needed to hash out the pair's often complex and always time-consuming approach to making music. When demos began to materialize, a rejuvenated energy for making new music together was found, and the once-doused creative fire found a long-needed spark.

Tragedy Popsicle is the duo's first record, for which they supplied all vocals, instruments, engineering and production. With a progressive view of music as both an art form and industry, Magic Punches offers all songs for free streaming on their website, and encourages fans to give feedback on which songs they like.
