After much prayer and seeking God, he gave instructions for this project. Phillip Ferrell gathered a tremendous vocal group of worshippers and they spent a year doing just that, worshipping. They were preparing for THE FREEDOM PROJECT. It was to be a recording that captured a service, not a concert. The project was to be prophetic and not contrived. In order to ensure the authenticity and integrity of the project, there could be no overdubs, no âre-dosâ. It had to truly be unplugged and had to be an actual service.

The Freedom Project was recorded Friday, December 23, 2005, at 7x:SevenTimes, an alternative service at Shiloh Church in Oakland, California. After the recording, the project was shelved for almost 5 years, and has just been prepped for release. Keeping with the direction of the project, their was only editing and mixing during the preparation. Almost five years after the project was recorded, it is now being released and sounds just as fresh, current, and needed in this time, as it did then.
