Details:
My entry into the music world began when I was ten years old. By eleven I was performing professionally with my brother and sister as the Trigg Kids in Anchorage, Alaska where my father, an Air Force pilot, was stationed. Once we became teenagers we changed our name to the Triggers and performed at colleges, fairs, military bases, The Ernest Tubb Record Shop and even the Grand old Opry.
I went to MTSU in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and graduated on the Dean's List and paid my way through school by playing music in a rock band, a country band and drums in a cocktail trio. After graduating from University I became an airline hostess for TWA and my first base was San Francisco. It was here that I met Elmo and was introduced to Bluegrass music. We were called The Homestead Act until we me Liberace. As one of his first protégés and at his suggestion, we changed our look and our name to Patsy & Elmo and shortly thereafter to Elmo & Patsy.
It wasn't long before we were working 50 weeks out of the year playing fairs, colleges, clubs, and the Nevada circuit. It was at Hyatt Lake Tahoe that we met Randy Brooks. Randy had just written the song "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" and thought it would be a good song for us as we mostly did novelty material. Boy was Randy ever right.
After we split up in the late 80's I took a well needed hiatus from the music world and moved back to Tennessee and my family. Here I began to pursue fields of interest that I now had time to follow. During these next couple of years I taught a music publishing class at Motlow, was an on air DJ for WLIJ 1580 on your AM stereo dial, became an auctioneer and sold everything from TVâs, books and personal items to tractors and farm tools and even fishing poles. Great fun! One area of interest that was most memorable was being part of the bar-b-que cooking team, Oink Cackle & Moo. We came in fourth out of 70 entries in the whole hog category and this allowed us to participate in the Jack Daniel's world wide cook-off. Deliciously fun... YUM!
As my creative side began to re-awaken I soon became interested in comedy and performed locally at Zaney's, Hard Rock Cafe and Guido's to name a few. I am now back in the music business and have been concentrating on writing songs. I've been experimenting with different sounds and rhythms and working with some very talented writers. 'Swamp Fiddle' is Cajun, 'If You Love Me In Your Heart' is Reggae, some country, a bluegrass song and a Rap version of "Grandma. There are plans to release a CD of new material shortly after Christmas. Life is good.
