Details:
These spontaneous recordings are recorded LIVE in nature. The composer chose locations throughout the American western states. He set up his multiple keyboards on the edge of the Grand Canyon where he performed during sunset. He traveled to Yosemite, Yellowstone and Zion National Parks, the Sierra Mountains of California The San Juan Islands in Puget Sound, Washington State, The Monterey Bay and in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains are a few natural settings for these completely original recordings.
All selections from these two albums are recorded exactly as you hear it, with no sequencing, overdubbing or editing. Paul Lloyd Warner believes that when music is created at the precise moment of inspiration, it demonstrates authenticity. These performances are proof. As the composer traveled around the country, he discovered that what people want most in life is peace of mind and harmony. The pieces selected for this album celebrate beauty in nature and the human spirit.
Peace in the home, in the family, friends, community, region, nation and the world is the heartfelt goal and inspiration behind this collection of music.
Born in Los Angeles, California in 1938, Paul began studying piano at age six and continued his studies through high school. When he was a student in English Literature at UCLA, Paul received a 4 year scholarship to study piano privately with one of Los Angelesâ finest teachers, Esther Lipton.
In 1959, Paul went to Europe to live in Italy for 3½ years where he studied Renaissance Art History and started to compose solo piano pieces. In 1963, he returned to live in New York City where he resided until 1968 when he moved to the Island of Maui, Hawaii.
While living in the Hawaiian Islands for the next 16 years, Paul evolved his piano style to what it is today: impressionistic, strongly arpeggiated, technically pure, passionate and poetic.
In 1983, Paul relocated to San Francisco and The Bay Area where he set up a business to market his music directly to the public throughout the United States. In 1990, he purchased a motor that he outfitted with a digital recording studio. Behind it, he towed a four-wheel drive van, which afforded him the opportunity to drive his keyboards and recording equipment to remote wilderness locations off the beaten path.
Powered by truck batteries inverted to AC power, an entire digital recording system made it possible for Paul to create professional recordings high in the mountains, next to waterfalls, in the deserts, by river and ocean, making music in spectacular scenery throughout the western USA.
