Details:
âAs Iâve grown, the music has grown with me.â Writing and producing since the early â90âs, Jamison D-Voo Price has come a long way. His newest release âWeather the Stormâ is a tribute to his exquisite talents both musically and lyrically. Boasting twelve crushing songs with each composition carrying its own unique emotion and flavor. Incorporating immaculate production, clever wordplay and witty metaphors, heartfelt lyrics, and the angelic voice of Emily Ellenwood, this album will certainly captivate the hearts and ears of music lovers around the world. âFinding a way to create with what we have is what Hip Hop music is all about to me,â D-Voo said. âWe all need an outlet to express our thoughts and emotions. Mine is creating tracks and writing thoughts to compliment them. I can listen and create for hours on end.â

âWeather the Stormâ was created like the Hip Hop albums of old with a variety of topics and techniques: from emotional to narcissistic, instrumentals to a posse track, and inspirational stories that the fan can relate to. âThese are the elements that Iâve grown to appreciate when it comes to making dope records,â D-Voo states. âI want this album to strike a chord with the mainstream Hip Hop market. A reminder that Hip Hop began as a creative outlet to inspire hope to generations, not a glamorization of a materialistic mentality.â âOn My Ownâ is a graphic story about a teenage girl who deals with life on the streets in pursuit of her premature independence. ââYou Actually Caredâ gave me the rare opportunity to put myself into a terminally ill personâs mentality and is one of the most touching songs on the album in my opinion.â D-Voo said. âI still havenât been able to listen to âYou Actually Caredâ without crying, it gets me every time.â Says Emily Ellenwood who appears on five songs. The entire album has a smooth, flawless flow with a moving instrumental titled âThe Hungerâ to close the album. âI picked âWeather The Stormâ as the title of this project to symbolize being motivated to overcome lifeâs obstacles.â

Dejavoo was his original moniker when he emerged as an artist in the early nineties in San Diego, California. Dance battles, tagging, clubbing, spinning records, and lunchtime freestyle sessions were a few of the activities that kept Dejavoo connected to Hip Hop music. He began producing music at the age of eighteen thanks to the influence of his cousin Garrick âGodâs Gift to Hip Hopâ Williams. By 1995, Dejavoo, Jason âBlame Oneâ Rutkowski, and Jay âDJ Croâ Crow formed a group called âMysteryâs Extinction.â In 1998 âMysteryâs Extinctionâ appeared on Rocketship Records âBlast Off Compilation Vol. 2.â In 1999 they released a self-titled underground album on cassette that sent an inspiring buzz through Southern California. The group went their separate ways in 2002. In 2000 Dejavoo released an underground cassette titled âThe Fam Compâ that still circulates in the tape decks of many San Diegans today. Deja, as his friends and family called him, made several cameo appearances on multiple artists projects including Ted âKan Kickâ Hughs, Chris âY-Testâ Salvagio, Blame One, Mark âMark My Wordsâ Simmers, Stephan âPROP$â Price, Chris Morris, and Gary âDJ Shagâ Gorzoch, In 2004 Dejavoo relocated to Portland, Oregon where a musical transformation took place. Being isolated from the fast-life mentality and the creative influence of his peers in California, Dejavooâs lyrical and musical intuition evolved into his own unique interpretation of Hip Hop music. Hence, D-Voo was born! D-Voo released a solo project in 2009 titled âPast Present Futureâ and in 2010 a beat tape âVibe with Vooski Volume 1.â

As his second solo album âWeather The Stormâ demonstrates, will D-Voo continue to grow as a person and as an artist. He feels that Hip Hop artists no matter the age should continue to record because music has no boundaries. âI have to keep an open mind and take advantage of every opportunity that surfaces. Working hard to better my craft will only strengthen my legacy. Marketing, producing, collaborating, and touring are all intricate pieces of my path to success. With how satisfied I am with âWeather The Storm,â I canât wait to start my next project. The future is looking brighter every day!â
