DON'S BIO:

Don is a full-time musician who is currently establishing himself in the Toronto music scene. Whether he is playing with his band or an acoustic solo show, singing his originals or rock cover tunes, his passion for performing is undeniable and his ability to engage a crowd is irresistible!

Don is a highly skilled jazz musician who graduated from the Humber College Jazz Guitar Program where he had the honour of receiving his diploma from the great Canadian himself, Oscar Peterson.

Don is constantly writing and arranging original music and has collaborated with other artists in the industry. From his home studio, he helped compose and arrange original music for the film âShark Cityâ, which was showcased in the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival.

DONâS SOUND AND INFLUENCES:

Don is a creative singer/songwriter who has a Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson sound to his music. Much like Bob Dylan and Bob Marley, Don has a passion for uplifting and meaningful lyrics.

Don is a multi-talented guitar player who plays with a combination of a rock sound reminiscent of Stevie Ray Vaughan, a blues sound influenced by Eric Clapton and a jazz style that pays homage to the likes of John Scofield and Wes Montgomery.

With this background, Don brings a whole new dimension to his Feel Good, Progressive, Laid-Back, Rock Style.

Don has just released his first album showcasing 9 original songs which he has written, arranged and produced himself.

He chose to entitle his debut album FREEDOM as a tribute to love and compassion, not only for oneself, but for others as well. The underlying message is to follow your heart and to enjoy life to its fullest. It is about becoming one with yourself, finding out who you are and sharing that person with the world. With this optimism in mind, the simple things in life are really all that you need as the journey suddenly becomes the destination. These ideas comprise the common message and feeling apparent throughout Donâs debut album.

For inspiration, Don draws from his own life experience and his infectiously upbeat, positive outlook on life. Combined with his own musical knowledge and additional musical pearls that he has absorbed from a lifetime of playing and performing, the result is a sensational mix of deep, compelling lyrics and catchy yet complicated musicianship that will leave even the most seasoned of listeners completely spellbound!

Recognizing the importance of giving back to the community, Don has decided to contribute a portion of every CD sold to the Eating Disorders Foundation of Canada.
