This is my third EP, and the one that I am most proud of to date. These songs were influenced by time spent in New York City in the summer of 2009, and recorded in Ireland the following year. I feel this EP best represents my music and what I am about.

10 things you should know about Building Pictures

1.) John Gribbin, a 24 year old from County Derry, Northern Ireland is âBuilding Pictures.â He is the younger brother of Ciaran (Joe Echo), a Grammy nominated songwriter.

2.) The Northern Ireland Music Industry Commission (NIMIC) in 2008 selected John to write music under the guidance of established songwriters like Iain Archer (Snow Patrol co-writer) and Eleanor McEvoy (a co-writer of the best selling album in Irelands history).

3.) One of Johnâs songs, âthis corner of the roomâ, was selected for the soundtracks of âAislings Diaryâ on RTE1 television in Ireland, and âFlat Mates,â for RTP, Portugalâs leading public broadcast channel.

4.) Two songs of Johns, "I'm Serious" and "The Good Will Out" were used on the soundtrack of an online series by Newsweek.com entitled 'The District,' which parodied Obama's first 100 days as U.S president. Check out episode 8 on youtube!

5.) John provided backing vocals on the soundtrack of British film âHeartlessâ, released early 2010 starring Jim Sturgess (Lead role in hit film â21â).

6.) June 2009 saw the release of a special edition of âHot Pressâ magazine with a free CD of 18 tracks from Glasgowbury festival acts. âHidden Agenda Typesâ from Building Pictures was track 14.

7.) 2009 also saw the release of two self recorded EPâs, both of which have received widespread airplay on Northern Irelands BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio 1.

9.) In recent months John was chosen by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) to be a guest artist on their tour of schools throughout Ireland to give young people guidance with song writing, with Building Pictures also headlining a date on the IMRO Showcase tour of Ireland.

10.) John has just released his third EP (The Closing Doors EP), to critical acclaim.
