This love has undoubtedly assisted in his developing into one of the hottest producers in New York State. In 2002, music from âDJ Shayâs Unsigned City Vol. IIâ was featured in the independent film âChatroom,â which was distributed by Artisan Home Entertainment. Demterius also known as âDJ SHAYâ has most recently released âDJ Shayâs Unsigned City: Still Unsignedâ in July 2006 with independent record label Buff City Records and 716/LiLo Production company. The album is a well put together combination of Hip-Hop, R&B, and a touch Neo-Soul, has some of the hottest underground talents in the recording industry.
The first single âSippin Hennessy,â off the album performed by Buff City Records artist Street Entertainment, will definitely be a club classic for the upcoming summer. With its laid back mellow beat, chopped and screwed hook, and lyrics that ride the entire track, its sure to soon be in heavy rotation. The track is receiving a warm reception in the southeast, getting spins on WIBB FM 97.9 in Macon, Georgia, some college radio stations, and beginning to heat up in clubs North and South. The next single, âMelodyâ performed by Stori James, who has recently worked with Dead Prez and some other industry notables, has a Neo-Soul flavor, with a combination of old-school hip hop and splash of reggaeton. Featured R&B artist JohnAl with his soulful voice, gives it that complete urban soundtrack appeal, and possibly creates the next dance craze with the song âTwo Step.â Also with catchy tracks, like "Pour Me a Cup" from Producer/Artist Thugzman, this album should defintely be in your stereo.
Unsigned City Vol. III is sure to be an independent album that will build a huge following, and could possibly top the charts. With high caliber music, backed by an aggressive independent label, be looking for this album and Buff City Records to make a mark in the industry.
