âSeason Of Plumsâ is the gorgeous debut EP sampler from Sydney-based singer/songwriter Behiye Suren. It follows a five-year journey of writing/touring in Australia, the USA and Europe under an artistic grant, as well as post-graduate
music study. This collection of old and new material is the result of years of work and exploration.

Behiye (pronounced Bare-Hee-Ye) draws on her Turkish/Australian heritage to create her distinctive blend of lyrics and melodies. With a rich voice that is at once emotive and soothing, she tells stories around the theme of human relationships,
taking her listeners on uplifting and dark journeys against the backdrop of the Australian landscape,
the seasons and the sea. Described as âsoulful folk with a middle-eastern twistâ, her sound is reminiscent of artists like Aimee Mann, Joan Baez and Lior.

Behiyeâs recent performances include live-to-air shows at Bondi FM, The Rocksong festival, The Northern Beaches Music Festival and the Lovejam Festival (Australia). Behiye Surenâs EP sampler âSeason Of Plumsâ is an introduction to her music before she travels to Istanbul and the Middle East to perform, write her new album and return to Australia in September
2011 in preparation for touring.
