Pianist/Composer Sherry K attended the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, where she received her degree in piano performance in 1986. Following graduation, Sherry traveled extensively throughout the United States, playing and directing music in various theatres. Now a resident of South Bend, Indiana, Sherry performs concerts for state fairs, womenâs groups, festivals, churches, theatres, and various organizations across the country. Her most recent appearances have been at the Chicago Music Mart, Nashvilleâs Opry Mills, and the Morris Performing Arts Center in South Bend. Sherryâs eclectic style includes everything from light jazz and new age, to gospel, classical and blues. Much of her time is spent teaching, composing, and recording as well. Former recording projects include an album of gospel music called â We Praise Himâ, as well as two CDs entitled âWestboundâ, and âA Whole New Womanâ. Sherry Kâs latest release is Sunday Best: Hymns and Spirituals Freshly Pressed. Recorded at the Gaither Studios, this disc is loaded with fun----these are not your Grandmaâs hymns! Well, actually, they are, but with a delightfully invigorating toss through the spin cycle to keep them fresh and exciting.
