(ID 1326400)
New Jewish and Klezmer Music with flavours of Romania and America, featuring the diatonic harmonica.

12 MP3 Songs
WORLD: Judaica, FOLK: Traditional Folk

Details:
The twelve tracks of Spicy Paprikash, Shtreiml's second album, not only demonstrate the band's diverse repertoire, but it's ability to effortlessly shift between the sounds of modern American klezmer music and that of traditional Eastern-European folk music. With instrumentation that includes the distinctly funky sound of blues harp, Fender Rhodes and Hammond B3, the album also pays homage to the folk roots of Jewish music, courtesy of guest performances by Moldavian cimbalom player Nicolae Margineanu, Philly's own Rachel Lemisch (trombone) and heiress to the Hoffman klezmer fortune, Susan Watts (vocals, trumpet). As would be expected, this new Shtreiml album displays virtuoso performances on the diatonic harmonica by Jason Rosenblatt, along with the fine accordion and vocal stylings of rising international klezmer star, Josh Dolgin (aka SoCalled). The backbeat is driven hard by the ever-solid duo of Ariel Harrod (bass) and Thierry Arsenault (drums). Enjoy!
