Ambient drones and guitar bursts amidst a bed of glitch beats and spaced out sounds.
8 MP3 Songs
ELECTRONIC: Ambient, ELECTRONIC: Experimental
Details:
Shelflife started as a vehicle for much of Davin Chong's early techno-oriented and other abstract programming endeavors. The self-released first EP entitled Every Five Minutes quickly proved the undeniably infectious nature of the unique music created by the young artist. Davin's brother Kevin joined immediately after the first EP was released and the two recorded the blissful new EP release entitled We All Look Beautiful. A newer, more focused, sound was the result of a simpler production method and the genius utilization of numerous samples and loops. Combining such disparate genres as IDM and even shoegazer, Shelflife is able to achieve a sound wholly unique to both the listener and the artist.
"Numerous samples and beats interplay with one another, sometimes overlapping simultaneously to create a dense work that demands close litening, and may even get your head bobbing at times." (Beautiful Blood Audioworks)
