Why:
Mission Statement: Sheltershed is an underground experience that seeks to provide a means of worship and celebration. To accomplish this, Sheltershed provides an avenue for praise through music, dance and community. Through its unconventional style, Sheltershed is dedicated to servanthood and upholding traditional values.
What:
Difficult to describe Sheltershed. Some would say it is âElectronicâ. Others would claim it to be the underground of âelectro-coreâ. Most find themselves at a loss for words.
Sheltershed live performances take 2 forms:
Sheltershedâs âDJ Lead Worshipâ experience deliberately creates an environment of music, sights, and community to lead the participants in a worshipful encounter with God.
Sheltershedâs âBlack Boxâ show is an energetic way to come together and have fun in the name God. It is also a DJ lead experience, however focuses more on having a good time of fellowship and celebration. This tends to be an excellent format for outreach events.
Who: In addition to the Sheltershed ministry, the members have full time careers, families and interests.
Rob Tippey- Rob is lead pastor of Level 13 church in Ft. Wayne, IN. Rob received his masters in church ministry from IWU in 1998. His call and passion is following Jesus and communicating that to the church.
Craig White- Craig is a child and adolescent therapist. He offers clinical services to troubled youth and their families in his community. He also serves on a leadership team for College Wesleyan Church where his wife and two sons also attend.
Dan Bartow/Heldbywill - has been a musician nearly his whole life playing in hardcore, metal and electronica groups along side such acts as Anthrax, Zao, Strongarm, Cannibal Corpse, Mushroomhead, Six Feet Deep, Overcome, Life of Agony, and many more. Dan is a software engineer during the day and a studio hermit and PC gamer at night.
Our vision and passion is to reach âtodayâs generationâ with the message of Jesus Christ.
Some of our latest activities include:
Performances at Cornerstone Music Festival 6 years running; 00 thru 06
âUnderground Resistanceâ project released through N*Soul in March 2001
Signed with Scott Blackwell of MYX Record Group for release in September 2002
Performances at underground outreach events in Chicago, Indianapolis & Cincinnati
Involvement in IWU youth conventions for the past 4 consecutive years
Participation in 4 âYouth for Christâ outreach events in the past 3 years.
Performed at several youth camps and events in the local area for the past 6 years
