Details:
The Shiftless Rounders are blazing their own trail through the wilds of North American folk music. Comprised of Phill Saylor Wisor (clawhammer banjo, guitar and vocals) and Ben Sidelinger (resophonic guitar and vocals), this young duo plays old ballads and breakdowns with as much passion, intensity and humility as they do their own original compositions. Fans and promoters alike are pleasantly stunned when they first hear Phill and Ben's banjo and dobro duets. The Shiftless Rounders are able to weave a web of twangy syncopation that sounds as if the two instruments were one. Their singing owes much to traditional 19th century shape-note harmonies, which deliver original lyrics with raw abandon. Just over a year old, this Vermont based group has played throughout the United States and Canada, creating a growing fan base and spreading their unique brand of acoustic roots music.

Their sound has been captured on the new CD, GHOST IN THE RADIO, released on their own Growlin & Grumblin Records.
Produced by Jim Arementi (The Lonesome Brothers, Klezmir, Cry, Cry, Cry) and engineered by Dan Richardson (Lo-Fine, Scud Mountain Boys, King Radio)
this record is a stunning debut.
It includes old-time favorites 'Mole In The Ground,' and 'The Cucoo' as well as poignant originals 'Happening all over again,' and 'Pirate FM Stations.'
GHOST IN THE RADIO also allowed The Shiftless Rounders to pay their respects to two of their heroes,
Townes Van Zant and Woody Guthrie,
with 'Dollar Bill Blues,' and 'I Ain't Got No Home (In This World Anymore).'
