Details:
33 West has exploded on the rock and pop scene in the last year with the new flavor added by a great new guitarist. The band, formerly known as Skalicious, has not dropped ska entirely, but they have just opened themselves up to more diversified genres of music. Some will notice a mix of rock, reggae, soul, and pop in their music. 33 West has been putting on exciting live shows since 1995 and their performances have even been praised by Pitch Magazine.

33 West has appeared on numerous compilations under their current name and their former name, Skalicious. They have generated and sold a large amount of merchandise including two CD's. The first, Snacks, was acclaimed, "One of the year's snappiest local records" by Eric Brace of the Washington Post.

Most of the 6 members of 33 West met while attending Chantilly High School in Northern Virginia. Co-founder and Wammie Award winner Andrew Gorski (vocals) excelled in choir and solo performance while the other two co-founders, Ken Barnum (bass) and Nick Hughes (drums) showed off in jazz and band. New members soon enhanced the band: Chantilly's Dave McGraw (trumpet) and Jake Walters (trombone), and Edmund Burke's Joe Nelson (guitar), were the missing links to the sound. The guys in 33 West now attend local Virginia colleges, mainly majoring in music, including James Madison University, Shenandoah University, and George Mason University.

33West can be seen and heard playing up and down the East Coast. The band plays venues of all sizes, including Washington D.C.'s 9:30 Club, Wolftrap, and Nation, and College Park's RJ Bentley's. They have also played with Fighting Gravity, the Toasters, Less than Jake, and the Pietasters.
