Details:
The Atomic Harvesters look mighty damn good, with or without the use of hair products. The Atomic Harvesters began entertaining Boston music lovers with their eclectic tunes in the fall of 2001. Since then, the band has enjoyed a steadily increasing fan base, singing quirky songs like "Spork" at acoustic-friendly clubs (Kendall Cafe, Milky Way Lounge & Lanes, Johnny D's Uptown). The members of the band are former graduate students at MIT, but have a broad range of experience performing in jazz, folk, country, rock, and classical music groups. The group recently finished its second full-length album, "Urban Cowboy," released by Sacrificial Hamster Records in September 2005.
What in tarnation is lounge country?
Spontaneity and humor abound on tracks that combine jazz and country flavorings, creating a sound that is edgy, dark, absurd, beautiful, melodic, and harmonically complex.

Reviews of Welcome to Lounge Country

"One of the 5 best albums I've heard this year. These songs are just so catchy--I can't get 'Spork' out of my head."--Tim Bruhns, Blink Music (Cambridge, MA)

"Not unlike Captain Beefheart meeting Chris Isaak, The Atomic Harvesters, vanguards of lounge country, have reason to celebrate the release of their first full length. This album hasn't left my cd player since I got it. Don't pass this by."--BJ Ray, The Milky Way (Boston, MA)

"This is good @#!"--Dan Millen, Harper's Ferry (Allston, MA)

"I walked into a bar one night because it was 'Free Pizza with Beer Night' and I heard these cats playing. I haven't heard such a beautiful sound since my friend Jeff's wife said 'Who wants more popcorn?'"--Rick Erausquin (The Internet)
