Conquering The World
By Jaime Torres Torres, El Nuevo Dia June 2006
With âMi Tamborâ, Paoli Mejías made his mark on the jazz world. His presence over the last two years in international jazz festivals confirms the credibility he earned with his first CD.

That is why itâs considered world jazz. It all started when Tony Escapa shared with me music he picked up from Greece which I thought was great. Combined with Flamenco music I obtained from Nestor Toro we fused themâ, explained Paoli at his visit at Nuevo Día.
Paoli, who was nominated for a Latin Grammy for âMi Tamborâ, produced âTranscendâ in the studio of the son of singer Tony Bennett in Englewood, New Jersey. The sound is unsurpassable. âItâs one of the best studios I have seen. All the jazz tracks (#1-7) I recorded there acousticallyââ¦
