Details:
Atlanta-based quartet PAPERSTREET was born in late 2002. Comprising former members of national acts Fear Factory and Cool For August, and regional act Cornbread(Keni Thomas), they wanted to start a band that embraced the best of all musical worlds. PAPERSTREET definitely has accomplished its goal. Bringing together rock and power pop they have started blazing a trail that is easy to follow.
Beginning with bassist Andrew Shives (Cool For August, Fear Factory) and drummer Brandon Faulkner (Cornbread,Keni Thomas, local session player), the two began looking for the finishing touches to complete their concept. Brandon brought in Justin Cooper for the guitar position, and now with bass, drums and guitar filled, PAPERSTREET immediately began writing and looking for a front man. Newcomer Luke Daly filled that position. With Lukeâs ear for melodies and powerful, expressive voice, the band has assembled a winning combination for great songs.
After one and a half great years with Luke, they had to part ways late in 2004. After a few weeks off, PAPERSTREET started holding auditions. In the next weeks the band was introduced to Chris Reece.â Chris came to his audition and blew us awayâ.
Chrisâ voice, ear for melody, dedication and drive for success brought a renewed energy and direction to the band.
With the components of PAPERSTREET reassembled, they spent the next couple of months writing songs to prepare demos to disseminate to the masses.
In early 2005, PAPERSTREET debuted their new sound and new singer with rave reviews. With a sound that is ready for radio, PAPERSTREETâs time spent behind closed doors has definitely paid dividends.
