// What is SOTSA? //

SOTSA is the acronym for the hip-hop album Symphony of the Spiritual Amnesty produced by Baltimore Maryland based production company Pinnacle Rhythms. This album is the culmination of almost 4 years of hard work, through dedication and sacrifice from everyone involved. The SOTSA album features raw, underground, emotional, energetic and often unique sounding beat production along side such emcees whose names are synonymous with both solid lyricism and speaking Truth through the medium of this street credible art form.

In a symphony, there are many parts and several different instruments that each play an intricate roll in the harmony of a musical composition. Each instrument in a symphony could easily be its own solo, and has its own distinct sound qualities. But when they are played in synchronization with one another, the combined sound properties create something extra ordinarily powerful and moving. Following that same principal, every artist on this project has their own distinct style and sound vocally. As a producer, Shaun B. combined his musical creations with the emcees distinct sounds and styles to create something extra ordinarily powerful and moving. Like a street symphony for the MTV generation to let Truth shine through our culture. Everyone involved in this project is an instrument of God's divine will. Using the term 'symphony' just seamed like an appropriate fit. Also, amnesty, by its very definition means to 'renew'. Since the goal of this SOTSA project was to bring a spiritual renewal to our culture... the name Symphony of the Spiritual Amnesty was born.

// Concept behind the project. //

The idea behind a compilation album is nothing new to the hip-hop world. Dj's and music fans have been perfecting the art of the mix tape for years. It's almost become a jaded term. Anybody can throw an album together featuring some new material by a bunch of artists and groups and slap a label on it and release an album. What Pinnacle Rhythms decided to do is go a completely different direction. "As a producer, I'm not much of an emcee" Shaun says. "But does that mean I can't release an album?" Well if you ask Pharell Williams of the Neptunes, or DJ Muggs, or Tony Touch if that's the case, they would emphatically deny that statement. In fact, all of them have done the unthinkable. As producers they all have created musical productions and laid the groundwork for a project while collaborating with emcee's to lyrically interpret their musical creations. Pinnacle Rhythms - Symphony of the Spiritual Amnesty is just that!

This isn't a various artists compilation album, it's an album whose artist is the producer and whose guest list of emcees have laid down the lyrical side of their collaborative efforts. Telling the Story behind the Symphony. Setting it apart from the norm and venturing into un-familiar territory to forge its distinctiveness in an otherwise un-tapped region of the genre. What few have done in the secular market, Pinnacle Rhythms has decided to pioneer in the Christian market.

// A Word from the producer. //

"What we've really done is taken a huge risk. People are already skeptical of Christian hip-hop as it is. Now we've gone and put a wrench into the machine, so to speak. We're trying to innovate in a genre that is already being innovative by its very existence. Only time will tell if music fans will catch on and accept what we've gone and created. And to make things even more difficult, nobody even knows who we are. This is really our debut in the music industry." Shaun Burkowski, President of Pinnacle Rhythms, Executive producer for the SOSTA.
