Details:
A slap of a bass, a twang of a string, and the sweet sounds of vocal harmonies characterize the 7th Annual Pickathon, which occurred on August 27th and 28th 2004.

On this year's CD we bring you 15 hand selected performances that allow you to bear witness to a musical movement that is continuing to make its mark on the national landscape.

Performer's Include Po Girl, Freak Mountain Ramblers, Mark Lemhouse, Danny Barnes, Shiftless Rounders, Jo Miller and the Burly Roughnecks, Johnny B. Connolly, Tallboys, Hillstomp, Cross-eyed Rosie, Cascade Colonels, Spigot, Kenton County Regulators, Goverment Issue Orchestra.

Thirteen of the tracks were recorded on the main stage and two of the tracks (Tallboys and Government Issue Orchestra) were recorded on a makeshift bandstand behind the main stage run by Peacock Radio.

The creative nexus for the Pickathon continues to be the
Portland music scene with contributing help from like minds all around the country. Portland's unique mix of small to medium musical venues continues to allow a diverse group of musicians to follow their instincts while growing a dedicated following in the community.

KBOO (90.7) is Portland's community radio station, and every artist on this CD has a deep appreciation for the role KBOO plays in keeping quality music alive in the media. A portion of all profits, including those from the sale of this CD, goes directly to benefit KBOO community radio.

The Pickathon takes place each year sometime in August just outside of Portland.

You can find out the latest in scheduled events, pictures, and sounds at the Pickathon website - www.pickathon.com.
