The title of the album is "The Road Less Traveled", this basically means to do your own thing or follow your own path. Most of the time people jump on the bandwagon and do what is hot for now not what comes from the heart.
The group Pen State hales from the Bay Area or as some might call it...... The Yay Area, Vallejo to be exact. Home of pioneer artists E-40 and the Click and MAC Dre (R.I.P). Though Pen State shares roots with the previously mentioned artist they have crafted their own sound. Pen State has a diverse list of musical influences from Soul and R&B, some Jazz and Rock & Roll. Their lyrical influences range from artists like Big Daddy Kane, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest to Ice Cube, King T, Too Short, The Pharcyde and many many more. Pen State's sound is a combination of styles over that trunk pounding hip hop....from the West Coast
