Pearl Avenue is Joel Parkes and Simon Laffy. Joel Parkes is a Universal Music Publishing songwriter and performer who wrote 8th World Wonder. This song was performed by Kimberley Locke and went to #1 on Billboard's Singles Charts. The Dance re-mix went to #1 on Billboard's Dance Singles Charts as well. Simon Laffy is a London DJ and producer who also works with Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook and Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen in the new band Man-Raze. Joel and Simon are long time friends who decided to combine melody and dance grooves to come up with a unique hybrid of contemporary club grooves and pop melody. Joel is the vocalist and Simon is the producer and groove-meister. The result is a sound that runs from hard dance floor attack to chillout dreamy grooves. This is Pearl Avenue's debut release. Their debut full length album, Everybody Wants A Piece Of Heaven, will be released on Derrida Records in 2006.
