Details:
"Pete Webb's songwriting remains his strongest suit.... Working from everyday experience, he looks for subjects he figures his audience can relate to. His songs are infused with integrity." - Spotlight Magazine, Ontario

For Pete Webb, songs are the key to music that has meaning, energy, and staying power. Mileage was the first of several independent CDs to bring Pete Webb's voice to audiences in Canada, America, and Europe. Recorded under the band name Webb--a musical collective comprised of Trevor Teed on drums, Barry Walls on bass, and Deanna Knight on backup vocals, plus assorted guest musicians--Mileage established Pete as a socially-conscious songwriter. His band proved to be equally adept at acoustic ballads and full-blown electric rock.

The CD's lead-off track, "Down on the Waterfront," was a popular staple on Ontario mainstream radio in early nineties. Another song, "One in the Know," won FM-96's (London, Ontario) On Track competition for independent artists. An even prouder moment came when Pete turned on the television news to hear protestors at an environmental rally in Kitchener, Ontario singing and playing his song "My Back Yard," a cutting ballad about the ravages of urban sprawl.
