Scott Perry
Bona Fide Acoustic Blues & Roots Music

The Total Package ...
Genuine traditional and original acoustic blues and roots music resound from Scott Perry's National Reso-phonic guitar. Scott's performances celebrate the enduring vitality of American music before World War II. Scott's songbook draws from traditional blues, ragtime, Tin Pan Alley, old time, jazz and mountain guitar, along with original songs in these traditions. An old-school sound that resonates today, Scott captivates audiences with instrumental mastery, soulful singing, thoughtful insights and humorous anecdotes. Engaging and entertaining, Scott Perry is the real deal!

Roots & Routes ...
A performer with a 25 year career, Scott began his musical journey in college. He earned a degree, despite hours spent trying to recreate the music of Mississippi John Hurt, Robert Johnson and Reverend Gary Davis. After a brief teaching career, Scott moved to Chicago and worked with David "Honeyboy" Edwards, "Big Smokey" Smothers, Jimmy Walker, Carl Weathersby and Billy Branch. While living in Georgia, Scott hung out with Neal Pattman and Frank Edwards, and in South Carolina met Drink Small and Richard "Big Boy" Henry. Since settling in Virginia, Scott has spent time with Nat Reese and the late John Jackson and many traditional and old-time players. Scott maintains a healthy performance schedule while homeschooling his sons and working a small farm in southwestern Virginia with his wife. Scott also owns a music store, the Pickin' Porch, that features acoustic musical instruments and supplies. His three critically acclaimed CDs receive international airplay and have been well received by the press, his musical peers and fans.

Testifyin' ...
Scott's mission is to inspire an appreciation of traditional American music by respecting the music's roots and its traditions of innovation, fusion and self-expression. Through Blues Pathways, Scott designs and teaches music programs and workshops and is listed on the Virginia Commission for the Arts Artist Roster. His interviews with other blues musicians, part of the Blues Pathways "Interview Project," have been published in several on-line publications. Through Oh Papa Music, Scott sponsors the "Masters of Acoustic Blues Concert Series."

Shameless Name Dropping ...
Scott's performance reputation and recording history has earned invitations to open for and share the stage with many blues legends. These acts include Paul Rishel & Annie Raines, Corey Harris, Otis Taylor, Roy Bookbinder, Ann Rabson, Paul Geremia , Catfish Keith, Cephas & Wiggins, John Hammond, Anson Funderburgh & the Rockets, and Deborah Coleman.

Brought to You By ...
Scott National Reso-phonic Guitars, John Pearse Strings, Washburn Guitars and Peavey Electronics for their endorsement.

Been There, Done That ...
In addition to club appearances, Scott has performed at the Chicago Blues Festival, Portsmouth Blues Festival, Charleston SC Blues Bash, Taste of the Blue Ridge Blues and Jazz Festival, Delaware Folk Festival, Chateau Morrisette Our Dog Blues Festival, Floyd World Music Festival & Herndon Blues Festival.
