Long-time Twin Cities songwriter, singer and producer Craig Schumacher switched his home base to San Diego, California about a year ago. With a stash of new songs and a couple of fortuitous return trips to Minneapolis, Craig teamed up with some of the areas most expressive and accomplished jazz musicians to record his second CD, New Shoes (CylSchu Music 2005). From shuffling rockers to burlesque blues to jazzy ballads, Schumacher's to-the-bones storytelling and the ensemble's adroit musicianship make the variety of styles a perfect fit. In addition to his vocals and acoustic and National guitar, Craig Schumacher wrote and produced the eight tracks on New Shoes.

New Shoes features Dean Granros (electric guitar), Kenny Horst (drums), Chris Bates (acoustic bass), Gary Berg (chromatic harmonica and saxophones) and Donnie LaMarca (piano).

As a producer and writer, Craig Schumacher has worked with acclaimed artists such as Ricky Peterson, Hiram Bullock, The Steeles, Melanie Rosales and Tim Mahoney. His debut CD, Live at Creation, was released in 2002. Craig Schumacher steps it up with New Shoes.
