Some people are Born with a natural abililty for music while others attend school for years trying to obtain it, but rarely are there persons whom God has gifted with both innate and formally trained musical traits, but Isaac S. Cates is the acception. Isaac began studying music formally at the age of four. Trained in most aspects of music from pedagogy to piano performance, Isaac quickly matriculated through many regional, Statewide and National Piano competitions earning numerous awards for his achievements in performance and composition. Isaac has served as Workshop clinician abroad, teaching vocal diction pronunciation and serving as Adjudicator for many vocal, instrumental and compositional siminars and competitions. Isaac is highly sought after as a musician, songwriter and producer, and gained much respect and notoriety for his ability to masterfully blend different musical genres together that is uniquely his own. In addition to serving as Minister of music and worship at the Paseo Baptist church in Kansas City MO, Isaac is also the co-founder of the ensamble "Ordained". In May of 2004 Isaac Partenered with Anthony M. Harvey, both music majors at UMKC and classically trained, started a small ensemble in the music ministry that would not only contribute to, but also work to change and mold the direction of Gospel music. Ordained consists of about 20 members all of which were hand selected by Isaac. Several of Ordained members have received formal musical education on their own and coupled with Isaac's classical training in vocal arrangement and piano performance, the two combined create a unique sound that is Ordained.Ordained has been blessed to have many opportunities to render their ministry both in and out of state and are highly sought after for their versatility. Ordained recently released their first project "Take My Life", All of the material on this cd was either writen or arranged by Isaac. For this Project Isaac teamed up with some of the finest musicians in the Kansas city area, including Keith Newton, Odell Talley, Samuel Niccolier, Lawrence Figg and Phillip Brown just to name a few. The project was produced by musician, producer and Minister Chris Collier, who worked closely with Isaac from the start to the end of production. Ordained has been accepting numerous engagements to promote the release of the cd. Ordained is hopeful and prayerful that their music ministry will truly touch the lives God's people and will take even higher the growing love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
