Details:
Casual Folklor was put together in October of 1998 by front man Tony Cuchetti and co-writer Chad Holsclaw (long time friend). Originally, Casual Folklor started as a three piece consisting of current members Tony Cuchetti on guitar and vocals, Chris Cuchetti (Tony's nephew) on bass, and drummer Geo Russell. They began rehearsing their rough material and after hours in the rehearsal hall decided to test the music in front of a live audience. The response was very positive. People loved the original, fresh ideas and the bands ability to be very diverse and not simply sound the same with every song. Soon after they began playing out live they decided to put their music "on wax".

Casual Folklor cut their first CD entitled "Twisted As You" in the summer of 1999. The CD had fourteen tracks, in their rough forms on it; a glorified demo if you will. The CD was sent to clubs and agents hoping to land more gigs. It landed a few here and there, but the feedback from the CD was that they needed a better chemistry and a more driving sound. The band struggled with this challenge for a few months until they came across saxophonist James Rafford and guitarist Rodney Dorrough. Both seasoned musicians in their own respect, the two new players added a fresh and exciting new twist to the material and things seemed to pick up. However, there was still something missing. The back bone of the sound, the drive, the groove.

Geo Russell soon informed the other members in the band that his heart was not into the commitment involved in taking the music to the next level. This seemed like sure disaster for the band, but worked out for the best. Tony Cuchetti was in a local bar listening to a cover band play. He noticed the drummer's intensity and approached him on a break. At first Cuchetti asked the drummer if he would play the tracks on the new recording project the band was doing. He said yes and the rest is history. Chris Blais became the new drummer of Casual Folklor and the missing piece of the puzzle. From then on the band developed a whole new drive and passion about their music. And the chemistry was definitely there.

In the spring of 2001, Casual Folklor recorded their second CD entitled "Little Mary" at JS Productions in Ocoee, FL. The sound quality was immensely better than the first attempt and the overall performance of the material definitely had more intensity and drive.

Casual Folkor prefers sticking to the old school mentality of pure music without a lot of doctoring. Music with a lot of soul and feel. Back to the basics. An all original unique sound with alternative rock, funk and soul flavors. Some of the bands influences are: Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Wes Montgomery, George Benson, Otis Redding, Parliament, AWB, Frank Zappa, Tool, Al DiMeola, and Blood Sweat and Tears to name just a few.
