CastorTroy of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, loves rock. If you canât tell that from just one listen then youâve got no music in your soul. Luckily, most of us have a musical bone buried in us somewhere and so will have no problem recognizing the considerable talent of alternative rockers CastorTroy. The music is strong and sensitive at the same time, revealing songwriting that understands the complexity of the spirit. This makes for music with startling emotional texture, red-blooded and heartfelt, the sort of thing to melt even the chilliest heart.
Speaking of texture, it must be pointed out that CastorTroyâs depth extends beyond just the lyricism. The music is a tremendous reflection of the realities being uttered in the words. The instruments blend in a perfect layering that is spacious and lush and encompassing. Bursting with warmth and brimming with intelligence, CastorTroyâs music manages to be imbued both with tenderness and strength. These are songs that reverberate soulfulness an rock energy.

It must hit the listener right in the chest, or the song has failed. For CastorTroy, few will be the listeners who donât feel anything, and all of those few probably have Scrooge as a last name. And even Scrooge grew a heart. In other workds, itâs impossible to walk away from a CastorTroy song without being touched. Absolutely impossible, no matter who you are.
CastorTroy has already had its brushes with the big time and itâs just a waiting game until that contact witht the big time is more than a flyby. Success artistically has already been found worthy to share the stage with Staind, Saliva, Hinder, Three Days Grace, Blackstone Cherry, Revelation Theory, and Egypt Central, powerful pairings for a band. The group is also planning on making a tour through the Southeast and surrounding area Fall/Winter of 2006, sharing their spirit for all who will come (and if youâre nearby and donât show up, youâre missing out on more than a concert- youâre miss an experience). And besides a full-length CD and a live DVD already available, recording is afoot for CastorTroy. Soon to enter Rivergate Studio with Chris Henderson, guitarist for 3 Doors Down, to record new tracks for their upcoming CD. Fans can only hold their breath and wait for the goodness.
