Cisko, originally Innocente, started off as a solo artist recording tracks just for the âhomiesâ to bump. Later he was joined by Charlie Boy and Drupey to form P.B.C. (Proud By Choice). The group signed to an independent label known as GH Entertainment in late 99âand released their first album (Central Valley Livin) in 2000. Due to complications with the label P.B.C. had to move on and signed with New Hustle Entertainment in late 2001 but never released an album through them due to a breach of contract on the labels behalf. They decided to start their own label that same year now known as Made Of Brown Productions. Charlie Boy was incarcerated just before the first release but the remaining members continued on to release two more group albums(âJealousy Will Never Ceaseâ; âStraight From The Heartâ) and a compilation (The Cliquelation vol. 1 âCaught In The Middleâ). Proving not to be just another âstudio gangstaâ rap group, the group suffered a setback as Innocente and Drupey also had a run in with the law. Upon release Cisko set the studio back up and got straight to producing beats and recording tracks. The album (Cisko âThe Time Is Nowâ) was put together quick due to popular demand in Central California and just as the previous has been a successful underground release.
Furthermore, in the event to cross over to mainstream, M.O.B. Productions put posts up on their website, www.proudbychoice.com, seeking a female vocalist to produce radio friendly tracks. Jessica was referred by a mutual friend and after a simple studio session became the newest member of the Made Of Brown family. What started as a solo R&B album became a group project after Jessica stepped into the studio to surprise the label with rap talent. She made the suggestion that she and Cisko go on to put together an R&B/Rap album. Hesitant at first due to being already labeled as a âgangsta rapperâ, Cisko took Jessicaâs suggestion and put it into play bringing the newest release: Cisko & Jessica âThe Other Side Of Meâ.
