We lucked out and had the San Francisco studio (Coast Recorders) to ourselves on a Saturday night. Canât beat a grand piano and a heap of top notch recording gear!
We recorded Corporeal Safari using our custom MAX/MSP patch called the cuisNart. Basically, we set up a laptop and start looping and blending sounds on the fly. After capturing the spirit of the song, we distill and serve straight or on the rocks.
The name Corporeal Safari speaks to the sensual quality to the song. While mixing it, I imagined a journey of touch and sensation, goose bumps, tender friction, sweet carnal aromas and hedonistic expressions.
