Jade Traymone Phillips (born September 3, 1991), better known by his stage name Boy Jenius, is an upcoming American rapper. At the age of thirteen, Boy Jenius began his music career in Louisville, KY under the tutelage of another young rapper and producer, Ray Reap (Raymond Nelson). Boy Jenius talents were quickly exploited as he rose to become a local area icon on Louisville, KYâs West End.

Although opportunities were not readily available for displaying his gifted nature, Boy Jenius refused to sit idly by on his talents. He began spending numerous hours in the music studio writing and producing various mix tapes with the support of a MAC computer and a website called, âSOUNDCLICKâ where he orchestrated his musical beats. Upon the correlation of several songs, Boy Jenius began posting samples of his hard work on popular web sites such as Myspace and Reverbnation which led to his growth in popularity within the Louisville area and linking up with local artistâs, Ralphie Boi and Lik Money. Boy Jenius gained most of his success with his personal mix tape entitled, âItS M3â Boy Jenius Better Said D3n Done, released in 2010.

Boy Jenius tributes many that has influenced his life, namely his mother, Renata Phillips and his father Joseph Tyrone Washington who provided unwavering guidance towards his progressing education and song writing ability.

Boy Jenius abilities have transcended nonstop since his younger age with no end in sight to his flair. He has often been praised by fellow rappers Gutta (Deshawn Washington) and Swavas (Jeremy Basel) for his ability to compose and express his music in such a versatile fashion .
