Details:
Christine and Jon, the popular, Michigan-based duo specializing in historically accurate renderings of popular songs, ballads and torch songs, have marked November 2006 by presenting their first full-length offering: "High Tea in Tin Pan Alley." The CD is a tuneful cross-section of some of the finest American song standards from as early as the 1920s through the 1950s, with a couple of their own songs thrown in for good measure!

In their first major release, vocalist Christine Schinker and pianist and songwriter Jon Milan (Milan & Pinkerton, The Brakemen), are accompanied by the Huron Valley Serenaders, a Popular trio that specializes in historically-accurate, small group jazz arrangements and improvisation. In addition to Milan, the groupâs personnel features Detroit area jazz favorites Tom Bogardus (Phil Oglivieâs Rhythm Kings and Royal Garden Trio), Brian Delaney (Royal Garden Trio), Mike Karoub (Royal Garden Trio) and Paul Klinger.

For more information, visit the Christine and Jon website at: www.christineandjon.com

Jon Milan: (Pianist, songwriter, historian); Studying piano and writing music for more than 40 years, Milan has had the pleasure of being mentored by some of Michiganâs finest stride piano masters including Charlie Rasch, Bob Seeley and Mike Montgomery. In addition to songwriting, he is a frequent writer and lecturer on music history. See: www.jonmilan.com and www.thebrakemen.net

Christine Schinker: (vocalist); Christine is one half of the duo Christine & Jon and can be found performing piano and vocal standards throughout Southeastern Michigan. Christine is also the percussionist/harmonist with the popular Ann Arbor based Annie Capps Trio and continues to divide her time between both rewarding projects.

Tom Bogardus: (Reeds); A nationally known interpreter of traditional forms of jazz, Bogardus has been a performer and instructor for many years. In addition to the Huron Valley Serenaders, he can be seen locally in the Royal Garden Trio, Phil Ogliveyâs Rhythm Kings and the Mike Karoub Trio.

Brian Delaney: (Guitar) The leader of the Royal Garden Trio, Delaney is a powerhouse guitar player who has well-earned a national reputation as a master interpreter of jazz stylings, with particular emphasis on the Eddie Lang, Dick McDonough and Django Reinhardt schools. See: www.theroyalgardentrio.com

Mike Karoub: (Cello); Mike is nationally known as one of the finest jazz bass and cello performers within the traditional jazz idiom. He is widely recorded and, in addition to fronting his own groups, performs regularly with the Royal Garden Trio.

Paul Klinger: (Cornet); Paul is known far and wide as a jazz multi-instrumentatlist. A master of the cornet, trumpet, clarinet, sax (including bass sax) and many more!
