Aubrey's foundations go back to Quail Run Elementary School in Lawrence, KS, when founder Jon Ulasien met Robert Weinaug and each talked their parents into buying their first guitars. Since then Aubrey has had many iterations in names and members, but began to solidify in 2001 when Alex Pierrelee and Paul Becker were added to the mix followed by Jaime Netzer in 2004.

Picked by Billboard Magazine as one of the top six independent bands in the Midwest, Aubrey debuted on to the national music scene as a featured act at the Discmakers 2005 Independent Music World Series in Chicago's famous Elbo Room. Aubrey has also opened for The Dave Matthew's Band at Kansas City's Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.
