Power Jazz for modern times. Distorted guitars, power pop hooks, and soaring saxophone lines create a modern Power Jazz sound.
9 MP3 Songs
JAZZ: Jazz Fusion, JAZZ: Acid Jazz
Details:
Pop this in the car, put the top down, crank it, and head to the beach.
Most jazz fusion and especially 'smooth jazz' comes from combining jazz with R&B sounds. I grew up listening to Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and Bryan Adams, so my music comes from the pop/rock side. I kept trying to find fusion where the guitarists weren't afraid of hitting the distortion pedal or playing the power chords, and it wasn't just mindless one chord jams.
I decided that if I wanted to hear this music, I would have to make it myself.
You will hear saxophones, distorted guitars, percolating synth riffs, and stadium rock drum grooves. There are soaring melodies, power pop hooks, triumphant choruses and some cool solos. We call it Power Jazz for Modern Times.
Featured on the CD is Demetrius Steinmetz, bass; Brian Kozak and Tony Pulizzi, guitar. I play the saxophone and sequenced everything else in Reason. I hope you like this music. What I tried to do was come up with something that moved me, so hopefully, it will move you as well.
Drop me a line and let me know what you think. I'll incorporate your comments into the next project to make it even better.
Peace.
