The Vapor Lounge: Volume One is a benefit compilation for Americans for Safe Access. It features music from more than a few incredibly talented artists hailing from all over the US including the SF Bay Area, Southern California, the Midwest, and the Southwest.

Produced in 2006, The Vapor Lounge: Volume One spotlights music from alternative hip hop to electronica to dub, with some straight up reggae beats, and a few experimental tracks laid down to refresh the ears. Donât all of these different genres sound like strange bedfellows?

As it turns out, The Vapor Lounge: Volume One is one uplifting compilation. Most Chill Slackmobâs thunderous opener, entitled Epicenter, definitely sets the undertone pulsing like a heartbeat-or an earthquake, whichever you choose. Then, things get a bit âmellow-choly funkyâ with Dubmarineâs Want You Back. A gifted wordsmith by the name of Sekou bobs and weaves his way throughout a quick look at a day in the life in Proverbs. The bass and irony heavy Moving to California by Swedish Mafia proves to be quite the listening experience along with Me and PD by Kyle Buller. Soldiers by Dusa Caditrack brings the stripped down essence of reggae into the fold, and ShayMoShan pumps it up a little with the sensual dance record Wanna Play.

Having these gifted artists come together for a common cause was an amazing experience. Hopefully, the future will bring us more and new exciting sounds in the continued fight to defend medical marijuana. All proceeds from album sales will go directly to Americans for Safe Access.
