After a painful divorce and the death of his father, Vezi went on a soul-searching trip in search of answers.
His travels took him to Mecca in Saudi Arabia all the way to the Himalayan Mountains where he re-connected with a long-lost musical mentor. Upon his return to Canada, Vezi who had spent his entire musical career (25 years) as a producer/engineer and studio-owner began writing and pouring his soul out in this remarkable album.
The lyrics are heart-felt, spiritual and eloquent and speak of the dramas of love lost and found, spiritual yearning and social comment.
We all need comfort and vindication as we walk this long and sometimes lonely road called Life.
The CD "Army of Angels" features world-class musicians such as Kevin Breit on guitar now with Norah Jones, the legendary Prakash John, bass player and co-producer who played in the 70's and 80's with Alice Cooper and Lou Reed, Jorn Andersen the fabulous drummer who now plays with Daniel Lanois but also has played with Alannah Myles and Anne Murray, and Gary Breit on keyboards who is now with Bryan Adams.
The album was recorded spontaneously "off-the-floor" with all the solos and many of the lead vocals performed 'live' all at the same time.
For audio buffs, this was an old-fashioned analog recording with no 'click track' nonsense or computer gimmickery.
Vezi's CD "Army of Angels" is truly artistic and emotional 'lightning caught in a bottle.' Enjoy.
