Details:
The music industry has been Versityle's toughest foe. Being that he is of Mexican decent, record labels automatically set the bar, with the likes of a Mr. Shadow or Little Rob. But he dosen't wear the locs. He dosen't drive a low rider. Therefore, there is no advancment and no oppurtunity to take rap and hip-hop to the next level when speaking a foreign language is demanded when you're outside the box-so to speak. Even a local radio stations refused to run the record because his sound wasn't of the sterotypical-mexican, MC. Either that, or some disc jockey's are too subconcious about their own image.

"You have to break the barrier in this industry. If you're just a regular artist with a pen and pad it's just not enough anymore. You need to set the bar yourself and start getting involved in all aspects of the game instead of relying on a record label to pamper your every need. Rappers are growing soft, you can be an independant artist with your own producers, promoters, website, and build your own studio at home. I'ma admit that it's a longer process and the money's slow but I'm in it for the music so I'm willing to take the risk on developing my own areas of talent rather then selling myself short to a contract with a label that want's to exploit me as a steriotypical chicano with a bald head."

"I'm not disrespecting my heritage, but if we want to take chicano rap and throw it world-wide and get the respect and reconiztion we deserve in HipHop we have to show versitility within ourselves as artist's, managers, promoters, and indpendant music as well. That's why I say I'm the new form of HipHop. I'm willing to set the bar and prove you can be diverse in this industry and still be connected to what's real in HipHop."

"The meaning behind my music is struggle," Versityle said, as he sparked up some sweet leaf. "If the world doesn"t believe in you, or if you think God doesn"t believe in you, you have to believe in yourself."

"I'm Gone" and "Often Wonder" is just a smaple of the singles that come from the album and can be found on Versityle's website and myspace profile.
