A Real Family Setting Art, Love & Life to Music.
11 MP3 Songs
POP: Beatles-pop, ROCK: Acoustic
Details:
Band Members: Allison Veltz, Laura Veltz, Drew Veltz, Jeannie Veltz, Ken Veltz
In 1998, we went from a family (dad, mom, son and two daughters) to a touring band called Cecilia The Band. In 2000, we got signed by Atlantic Records and moved to New York City. Two years of wrestling with the label with no record production in sight, we opted to ignore the label until we got dropped in 2002. Before, during and after, we toured nationally and collected a loyal fanbase, with which we collaborated in 2003 to make a studio album independently. The record began production four years ago and on September 30th, 2006, we finished. The record, produced by grammy winner Scott Hull and mixed by grammy winner Kevin Killen, is called "This" and it's incredible. The music was recorded utilizing old school techniques, i.e. live tracking, real vocals, real band in the room style and the songs are all original. The completion of "This" writes the last page of an eight year old story, as well as the first page of a new one.
Our music is uplifting, real and filled with love, joy and challenges based on our lives, all in the form of catchy original pop tunes that get stuck in your head. The make-up of the band includes the signature three part harmony of the two daughters (Allison & Laura) and mom Jeannie, while Ken & Drew, dad and brother, back up the music rhythmically with guitars and percussion. The show itself is a unique blood-connected display of harmony, rhythm & groove, individual and collective musicianship and the family's light-hearted approach to performance. No one leaves a venue without a song in their head and a smile on their face.
